I saw a River Island Sequin Jacket in your High Street Hits feature but by the time I got round to ordering it, it had sold out! Do you have any other suggestions of where I could find something similar?
If you’re looking to splash out, then Net-a-Porter has a gorgeous option in this season’s must-have gold colour from Les Chiffoniers.
For something a bit more affordable, try Topshop. Their loose-fitting short blazer with a shawl collar and turn up sleeves comes in a choice of midnight blue or light grey and will look stunning from day to night.
Finally, High Street favourite Warehouse have designed their sequinned jacket in the style of the boyfriend blazer: open fronted, single breasted and rolled up sleeves, making this an ideal jacket to complement any outfit. So there’s plenty to choose from!
I'm planning a picnic in the park but don't have time to prepare the contents. Could you recommend some ready-made picnic hampers?
A day in the park should be just that - a day in the park. And just because you’re choosing a picnic blanket over a tablecloth, it doesn’t mean your lunch should be any less tasty.
Picnic traditionalists will love Forman & Field’s appropriately titled Purist’s Pick Hamper, filled with everything you need for proper British picnic, including cheeses, smoked salmon paupiettes, and the picnic essential: Pimm’s.
If you’re planning something a little more romantic, Fortnums’ Tryst in the Park is guaranteed to impress a beau. Champagne – tick. Foie gras – tick. Champagne truffles – tick. What could be easier?
I was considering a flower subscription where I can get flowers delivered regularly for a year. Do you know of any florists that offer this service?
If you're a fan of roses, head to The Real Flower Company, who offer Roses for a Year. You can have varying sized bouquets, from posies to larger arrangements, delivered each month for a year. This makes a great gift for a special lady, and beats buying a single bouquet from a petrol station hands down! (There is also the option of weekly deliveries.)
For a more regular, bespoke subscription, Moyses Stevens can organise weekly arrangements to be delivered to residential homes throughout London. Their bouquets are designed to complement your home's interior, so their florists visit you, discuss your ideas and come up with bespoke designs to suit.
It's my goddaughter's christening this weekend and I want to get some special jewellery that she'll keep forever. I've been searching for the perfect initial letter necklace, but can't seem to find any that I like. Any suggestions?
Have you looked on Molly Brown? She does the most gorgeous jewellery for children, and these simple but sweet initial pendants are no exception. Plus, they won't break the bank at a purse-palatable £40.
Alternatively, for some extra special that she'll wear when she's older, Argent do some beautiful diamond letters which can be strung on a a matching necklace. They're a little more expensive, but will be treasured for years to come.
In a few weeks I'm going to the Bahamas with my husband, our 7 year old daughter and 2 year old son. The children love playing in the sun but I want to protect their skin from harmful rays and sunburn. I'm already planning on regular applications of sun cream but are there any cover ups that will also keep them cool but protected?
We've found just the thing. Children often just fling off sun hats, so instead opt for a hooded all-in-one from Boden, which is equally useful for bundling up your baby on the beach as it is after a splash in the bath. Its towelling fabric makes it easy peasy to wash and with the cool, nautical stripes, your little one won't want to take it off.
For little girls, Mitty James' dress version is completely adorable, and perfect for both shading the hot, midday sun, and keeping the chill out on a cool summer evening.
I’ve just booked a last minute trip to Aix for this Easter break and would really like some help finding beachwear that will complement my skintone. My skin hasn’t seen the sun in some time so I'll need something forgiving to my pasty complexion for the first few days, and another swimsuit for when I'm suitably bronzed later on. Any suggestions?
We're all feeling a bit pale having covered ourselves up in layers upon layers of cashmere over the last few months, but I think I’ve got just the thing for you.
For the beginning of your trip you can’t go wrong with this gorgeous brown Bellinski, which can be worn without straps to avoid tan lines and build up that nice colour all round. Once you’ve tanned a few shades slip into this coral Heidi Klein bikini, which is sure to bring out your newly acquired glow.
My new flat’s white walls have already become tired, but I’m hesitant to invest in any art that’s too vivid as my design palette is rather muted. Can you suggest some black and white photographs that will complement, rather than overpower, my subdued colour scheme?
I can definitely sympathise - a blank wall is entirely irksome and purchasing art is even more so. I would recommend turning to 55Max, which has an array of images that are categorised brilliantly to assist in your shopping.
We like this Alex Holland Staircase photograph because it’s artsy, without being too pretentious. If you’re looking to make your walls more interesting with a limited budget, this is the perfect way to do it.
I travel a lot and always carry a pashmina but I’d a) love a change and b) love something a bit more substantial to keep me warm on the plane but that still looks smart. Do you have any suggestions?
Treat yourself to a Travelwrap and you won’t look back! They are the most beautiful, handknitted cashmere travel blankets and are far snugger than a pashmina. I wear mine to travel, to curl up with in front of the TV with and always take it Cornwall with me in the summer where the evenings are chilly to say the least. They do the sweetest Little Travelwraps too.
Madeleine Thompson also does some divine cashmere that’s uber luxe. We adore her Luxury Travel Set. It includes a mini blanket and a cashmere eye mask lined with silk to give you a little shut eye; both come stylishly presented in a cashmere lined travel bag.
I’m off to Sorrento in May to get married. I have the perfect dress, but now need the perfect pair of shoes. I’ve looked everywhere from Jimmy Choo to LK Bennett but I’m not sure they’re quite right. I really want something with the wow factor (no cream satin) - the shoes are my luxury item as my dress is mid-calf length so please help!! If you have any fantastic ideas, I would love to hear them!
You simply must go to Emmy – her ivory suede (trust me, stunning) shoes are to die for. I bought mine from her and chose the Olivia (pictured). If you’re after something sparkly then she does lots with lovely embellishment on too.
As you'd expect, Christian Louboutin also does some stunning wedding shoes, available at BrownsBride.
I've just booked my honeymoon and want to travel in style. My torn-to-shreds holdall from my gap year days doesn't exactly scream 'glamorous honeymooner'... Can you recommend some smart luggage that won't elicit disdainful looks from the hotel staff when I check in?
Absolutely. This Maxwell Scott leather holdall would be perfect for your romantic getaway -authentic and traditional in style, it’s one that your man is sure to like as well. Or, how about this Aspinal of London travel bag set - he can carry the large one, whilst you take the smaller (a ‘his and hers’ of sorts).
If you’re looking for something more contemporary, then the Hero large weekender might be more your thing, it’s effortlessly sleek and sophisticated.
I want to buy my boyfriend some loafers for his birthday. He lives in his Loakes but I’d love to get him something a bit more fun. I spied a guy in a restaurant with a great pink pair the other day. Would love any ideas you might have…
I’m guessing the guy you spotted was wearing a pair of Fin’s. They’re fab suede loafers in all the colours of the rainbow - for £80. There’s a pink pair of course, though they’re not for the shy, retiring type!
Also try Harrys. They do some of the most smart and stylish men’s shoes (and in particular loafers) around.
I’m renting a couple of cottages for my husbands’s birthday and want some delicious hearty readymade dishes everyone can tuck into when they arrive on the Friday evening after work. Is there anywhere in particular you would recommend?
Absolutely. I would head straight to Cook, they do delicious frozen ready meals made by their own chefs and delivered to your door. There’s everything from hearty fisherman’s fish pie, cottage pie and steak and red wine pie to bramley apple & blackberry crumble and bread and butter pudding. It really is very good.
Also excellent is award winning Chef On Board. A similar concept, all made with no artificial ingredients, flavours or additives and delivery is free over £55.
