Lynda's blog
Lynda loves running her interior design business, L Interiors , mostly because she has such wonderful clients (most of which become friends) and partly because it takes her abroad to wonderful places.
Lynda lives in the country – although as she much as she loves it, she’s an ex Notting Hill girlie and couldn’t do it 24/7! Her favourite online stores are GlamOnWeb.com (La Perla), JimmyChoo.com, SpaceNK.co.uk , Hush-UK.com and bbr.com (Berry Bros) because they supply her with the most delicious champagne! | |
A Store Like No Other... Published on Thursday 21st June 2007
I‘m pleased I felt no guilt for my time spent relaxing by the pool in France not long ago because since my return I’ve been extremely busy on the interiors front!
So much so, I rewarded myself with a long lunch with a great friend / client at the Wolseley yesterday, followed by some retail therapy in Jimmy Choo - I hasten to add that this was after a good mornings work.
Part of the reason I’ve been kept so busy is that I’ve recently joined forces with Harrods . The store is providing me with the facility to carry out personal shopping appointments for interiors, allowing me to shop the store with clients then be able to retire to the design studio (when it gets too much) for a chilled glass of champagne.
And what fun to do all this at Harrods – the 3rd floor of the store is equal to about four acres of interiors!
I’m now fairly familiar with the four acres in question and at the moment, due to my clients’ requirements, the majority of my time is being spent in the Ligne Roset department. I’ve long been a fan of the company and its ability to always be on the cutting edge. And due to the nature of the property I ‘m currently working on, it totally lends itself to the project.
I would love to furnish my own home with Ligne Roset, the contrast between very modern and historically old appeals to me because it gives an unexpected contrast. I would definitely put the Brindilles light above my bed - the soon to be delivered ‘ Snowdonia’, (pictured) that’s so incredibly sexy. In fact sexy is how I’d describe most of their products.
If I was to recommend you buy one thing and one thing only, it would have to be the Louis 5D Wall light. It has the absolute wow factor and it’s surprisingly affordable - as are the complimentary Josephine 5D lights - hard to choose between the two .
I’d also suggest you check out the Jul and Jil chairs (if only for fun), and I dream of the glossy white Hyannis Port desk to eliminate the debris that clutters my own… in fact , just order the brochure at www.ligne-roset.co.uk , it’s all so appealing.
