Accepting The Inevitable...

Apparently my mother-in-law’s wisest words to her son were ‘to look at the mother first’.
Yes it’s inevitable, as we get older, we’re all destined to end up like our mothers whether we like it or not...
Thankfully for me (and the genes are strong) my mother’s in pretty good shape but that didn’t stop me cringing when last week I found myself uttering the very words that used to make me roll my eyes.
Ticking off to over-worked girlfriend aside (‘it’s the hours before midnight that count’), it was after popping in to my mother’s favourite shop and unintentionally purchasing some pumps  , that it really dawned on me.
 Now don't get me wrong, the pumps are perfect but I only went in because they’ve recently revamped their website and I was keen to check out the stock; I never imagined I’d end up with anything for myself.
So it seems the inevitable IS inevitable...
Or perhaps it’s Pantalon getting younger, as opposed to me getting older...
