All In The Name Of The Work... Published on Wednesday 24th October 2007
Last week, naturally in the name of work, I found myself at Shoreditch House, a new members club just five minutes from Liverpool Street station .
The reason for my visit was to celebrate the launch of a new company , Plumage , essentially clothing really; fabulous cashmere, sexy kaftans , country kit and some very very nice silk lingerie….and, oh yes, great mohair throws and candles - I think that’s where the interior bit comes in!
Anyway, we had a great time there, we started proceedings with a yummy a massage in the Cowshed Spa; gosh I love those products (my bathroom is full of the oils) and it was a truly wonderful experience.
It was then onto one of the many bars within the house that you can choose to drink in and after that good we’d done in getting rid of all our toxins we then chose to down a fair few bottles of champagne accompanied by some very delicious food (would have been rude not too).
The top floor of Shoreditch House has a roof top bar, restaurant and pool, which is pretty amazing and you can sit there having a drink with the Gherkin (one of my favourite buildings) in full view. The place is well worth the £700 membership.
Oh and not long after, the new Ligne Roset brochure landed on my desk. It’s as ever so inspiring, I just love my Snowdonia bed from them - it make’s getting out of bed really difficult. A new addition to the range is the enormous Sketch Sofa . You could easily fit an entire rugby team on this sofa and it’s on my wish list, mind you, you’d have to permanently have friends round or you could feel a little lonely on this monster.
Two new lights are the rather unique Paranoid Flexible Reading Light and the Jellyfish Ceiling Light . In fact there’s a whole load of new items to check out, these are just the ones that initially caught my eye. Contemporary French design at its best.
