Award Winning Denim...

I spend as much time as I can reading and consuming blogs; not only are they hugely entertaining but they’re also vastly informative.

By now I’m hoping you’ve read our Domestic Goddess feature that’s written by Cherry aka the UK’s answer to Martha Stewart. Cherry is passionate about all things dedicated to home making and every week we’re lucky enough to have her share some of her gems with us.

Denim blog Denimology is another firm favourite of mine (and I’m not alone – it’s huge). It keeps me up to date with all the latest denim brands and equally importantly, it tells me who in the spot light has been papped in what.

I was reading Andy’s latest post earlier in the week and I was interested to read (and thought you might be too) that the LA Fashion Awards have announced that the following brands have been nominated for the inaugural Supima Denim Designer of the Year Award:

• 7 FOR ALL MANKIND
• GOLDSIGN
• J BRAND
• OLIGO TISSEW
• PAIGE PREMIUM DENIM

Whilst we’re fortunate enough to be home to Radcliffe denim, it has to be said that our friends across the pond are generally leagues ahead of us in the denim steaks.

Thankfully we can get our hands on most of them though. You’ll find 7 For All Mankind, J Brand and Paige at denim specialists Trilogy and Goldsign at Net-a-Porter. As for Oligo Tissew... not just yet I’m afraid but we’ll keep you posted.

Andy added that if he was on the panel, ‘J Brand would get (his) vote’. I’m inclined to agree. Closely followed by long serving and trusted friend, 7 For All Mankind.
