Yummy Mummy Week:
15th – 20th September
Published on Tuesday 21st August 2007
If you’ve ever wondered if you’re a yummy mummy (or whether you’ll become one at some point) now is the time to choose to be one!
CLIC Sergent (caring for children with cancer) have come up with the quirky idea of yummy mummy week which aims to raise money to help children with cancer.
Last year they raised over £600,000 and they’re hoping to raise more this year.
Helping raise money could be fun and well worth a few hours of effort. Having a cup of tea with friends (well that’s not hard is it?) is good for starters or perhaps a girls night in - include a nice bit of pampering with the latest from Bliss and some canapés from Chef 2 U – with an entry fee to the charity.
You could go for the piece de résistance and put yourself through a 5k PJ run.
If you’re up for a bit of energetic running then its time to hide any dodgy non matchers and head for a pair of extra fast slip on slippers and a cracking pair of Pyjama Room PJs.
For those with a competitive edge make sure the surface of your PJs is nice and smooth to ensure an extra fast time!
It all sounds like a good idea and a great cause to me. The celebs are behind it – Sarah Beeny, Fern Britton, Tess Daley to name but a few...

The Handbag Vs the Changing Bag
Thursday 19th July 2007
In my years BC (that’s before children) I loved a good handbag. I filled it with the essentials: purse, mobile, lippy, kitchen sink… but as I approached the birth of my first baby it dawned on me that my handbags days may be limited. As I planned for the birth and trawled the...
Shopping For Antiques Without The Moth Balls...
Tuesday 3rd July 2007
My home needs a makeover and I freely admit that my skills as an interior designer are pretty non- existent. Some people just have that knack of choosing a few coordinating items and hey presto, the room is transformed. But where I’m concerned, it involves months of traipsing around with fabric...
My TV Moment
Tuesday 12th June 2007
For those having a baby the news can be distressing – stories of midwife shortages and birthing units being closed have been dominating the news of late. We (me and my partner at The Baby Gurus HQ) were delighted to be asked to take part in a feature on services available for parents...

Let’s face it most ladies don’t travel light, with everything from Mac make-up to Christian Louboutins classed as core essentials. During the packing for my break away I do wonder briefly if it’s possible to wear 7 pairs of shoes in 4 days……..of course I keep packing them. I must admit the idea of...
