Lynda's Blog

Lynda loves running her interior design business, L Interiors , mostly because she has such wonderful clients (most of which become friends) and partly because it takes her abroad to wonderful places.

Lynda lives in the country – although as she much as she loves it, she’s an ex Notting Hill girlie and couldn’t do it 24/7! Her favourite online stores are GlamOnWeb.com (La Perla), JimmyChoo.com, SpaceNK.co.uk , Hush-UK.com and bbr.com (Berry Bros) because they supply her with the most delicious champagne!

Colour In The Caribbean
Published on Monday 21st April 2008

Very soon I’ll be packing my bags and heading off to the Caribbean to finish off a project (tough job I know!). Before I go I’ll be stocking up on bikini’s from Heidi Klein - there won’t be much room for anything else because I’ll be taking a fair amount of home accessories and fabrics with me.

The Island I’m working on is very tiny and there’s not much choice in the way of home furnishings - Miami would be your nearest port of call and even then not right for my British clients who are looking for something far more eclectic.

Out in the Caribbean, with the light and the climate, I’ve been able to work with a riot of colour which is so refreshing (fabrics have come from Designers Guild , Borderline , Osborne and Little ).

wild at heart vintage bouquetColour, as I predicted, is back with vengeance and I like to drop it into a neutral scheme with blocks of vivid colours here and there.

So whether you’re in the Caribbean or here in rainy UK, now’s the time to bring colour back into the house – if you don’t fancy a fabric overhaul then you can at least do it with flowers too.

I’m a huge fan of Nikki Tibbles at Wild at Heart - last year she did the most amazing floral décor at the Ralph Lauren bash and I’ve just checked out her website and she now delivers all over the country...

I have my eye on the Vintage Bouquet...
