Doctor Doctor...
Published on Tuesday 14th November 2006

We've got Dr Brandt, Dr Hauschka, Dr Sebagh and NV Perricone MD to name but a few of the doctors, dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons who have bought out their own skincare brands of late.

The latest is Steven Victor MD , a well respected Manhattenite dermatologist whose brand, I am told, is not just another doctor's skincare line but instead, a luxury, intelligent and advanced scientific collection to satisfy even the most discerning of consumers!

So what's so special about Victor's new, so called, ground-breaking range?

Well, each product contains multiple ingredient complexes that enhance or complement each other. Confused? Basically the formulations in some skincare ranges mean that they only contain one active ingredient so you still have to use other products alongside them to achieve multiple effects. Victor's multiple ingredient complexes mean you shouldn't have to use so many products - his range consists of just six.

If there's one thing you do for your skin, it should be to cleanse. Victor does an Anti-ageing Cleanser 120ml (£41) that purifies, removes surface dirt, exfoliates, unclogs pores and improves the clarity of your skin.

The pièce de résistance is his Bio-Nutritive Luxury Cream 50g (£250). A luxurious take on multi-tasking (and multi-task it should at this price!), this emollient-rich, anti-ageing cream helps to reverse the signs of ageing, improve the skin's hydration, as well as regenerating and revitalising the skin cells.

To further correct and prevent the signs of ageing, try the Intensive Wrinkle Repair 30ml (£157). It's especially useful for those with deep wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes and the mouth.

There's also an eye repair treatment and a couple of serums (one to hydrate and one to reverse and repair), but I'd recommend you start with the above. It's been going great guns in the US since the launch so I reckon it's worth a try! If you're prepared to spend £250 on a face cream that is!
