Dressing The Bump...
Published on Wednesday 5th December 2007

I can’t remember the last time I actually went to a shop and tried something on. All my shopping is done exclusively online. The time saving and convenience makes up for the shipping charge and the occasional return. Now that I’m 30 weeks pregnant, I can’t fathom actually walking along a busy High Street. All that pushing and barging - no thank you.

My sense of style hasn’t really changed with the growing waistline, but my www destinations certainly have. I’ve had to find some bump-friendly online shopping experiences. Most maternity shops want to dress you in plunging necklines to take advantage of the increased cleavage. But that’s not me.

isabella oliver ruched tI just need some basic, comfortable pieces that will see me through a range of different occasions and wash well. Since I’m only going to wear these things for about 6 months and then perhaps for my next pregnancy, they need to be classic pieces that will withstand the change in fashions.

Hard ask? Not when I discovered Isabella Oliver . Their own brand range of clothing is breath taking. So sleek and simple that you will actually want to wear it. Many pieces - such as their coats - you could continue to wear when you’re not pregnant! But it’s their comfortable separates that won me over.

I bought the Ruched T in every colour available and wear one nearly every day. The bump band is something every woman needs and with it I was able to wear my regular jeans right up to my 7th month.

What really impressed me about Isabella Oliver was the packaging my orders have arrived in. As the owner of an online boutique I’m pretty hard to impress. But each item was wrapped in beautiful orange and white tissue paper with matching ribbon and stickers.

It really was a wonderful experience and I’d highly recommend paying them a visit when you need to dress your bump.
