Getting Cosy...

Published on Tuesday 23rd October 2007

At last autumn has taken hold, the leaves are falling and the colours are changing; the sun is doing amazing things in the morning and evening, and those contours as I look out of my bedroom window first thing through the early morning mist are quite stunning.

And as long as I’m feeling warm and toasty I can really enjoy all these amazing attacks on my senses – did I mention the smell of bonfires, so sickly in the summer and so evocative as the evenings draw in?

cologne and cotton lace edged towels I’ve been thinking about ways we can snuggle up without always having the central heating on – yes I can be green too.

I’ve recently had a new bathroom put in and I’m discovering some really good aspects to it, one being the towel rail that isn’t dependent on the main heating system to give me yummy warm towels in which to wrap myself.

Great idea but the airing cupboard didn’t offer up anything nearly good enough to match so it was time to seek out some super soft and hopefully huge new towels that I could co-ordinate with my new boudoir.

I trawled the web and found ‘towel heaven’ at Josephine Home where the quality looked amazing, Lavender and Sage, Cologne and Cotton whose edged trimmed white towels were just divine and of course the most dependable of them all, The White Company.

I was completely spoilt for choice and am surreptitiously replacing the whole airing cupboard month by month. With a huge new warm towel awaiting me, bath time has taken on a new meaning now and who knows, there may be candles flickering and a bottle of champagne to follow?!

The other item I’ve bought in the last week or so has made bedtime more attractive. After years of backache my chiropractor recommended I invest in a memory foam topper for my mattress. Good old John Lewis came up trumps and my new mattress topper arrived less than 24 hours after I ordered.

My back has certainly felt the benefit and my husband who being far too British for his own good and who never admits to anything like an ache or pain actually muttered that it’s ‘quite comfortable’ – praise indeed.
