Getting Glam for A Cause...

I was totally delighted to have managed to get my hands on a ticket to the Women of Influence Awards 2008 held this week in Barony Hall in sunny Glasgow. I was even more delighted to see that the event was for the NCH Children’s Charity – very worthwhile.

But with all this delight came the inevitable next bit – dread... what would I wear????? This event attracts Scotland’s glam and famous (and as my lovely hubby pointed out... little me!). I’d heard on the grapevine that the tables were always full of stylists, interior designers, politicians and some wealthy folk indeed. EEK!

After falling over in the changing rooms squeezing into a pair of good old spanks I decided Matches was the way forwards...

The day didn’t disappoint. It was a glamorous affair with a wealth of attendees in the latest fashions and me in mine (thanks to DVF). I was loving admiring little hats, bright tights and heals that were like skyscrapers.

My table was great with too many to mention – Sara from Cherry Lifestyle was a delight.

We did find the peak of the evening discussing knickers and bras (with Nicky Longmuir from Agent Provocateur and stylist Kelly Cooper Barr) and finding out that the Mabel was a firm AP favourite at our table... oh saucy.

With all the laughter I just couldn’t admit to the big knickers!
