Good Intentions....

So I’m not usually one to even contemplate a detox but somehow this year I felt differently. Getting back from hols mid December meant that we rolled right into parties and by month end I think I’d had just three nights that were even close to being dry.

New Year’s Eve was beyond heavy, the house took a battering (I bumped into a neighbour at the weekend who wondered how our chandelier had ended up hanging half way between the floor and ceiling....) and we continued in the festive spirit until work began on the 4th.

The SL team has grown by another two (welcome Lucy & Tory) and thankfully we’re all pretty local so work was uninterrupted by the snow.

But whilst everyone might be whinging about this weather, I’m all for it. Firstly because we’re actually having a proper winter season for once as opposed to the constant dull grey days that start in November and go right through to March. And secondly because it’s the perfect excuse to do nothing / detox (I’ve adjusted the contents of my Graze box accordingly!) / stay home / shop the Jaeger online sale (they have some fabulous pieces at great prices).

The accountant is thrilled (he hasn’t seen the credit card bill yet) because all we’ve done is curl up in front of Spooks practically every night (believe it or not, we’re only on series 5) with a bowl of soup and glass of ribena.

That said by Thursday we were bored and hit the local Pizza Express; crazy I know but you can’t beat a Pollo Verdure (plus they’re doing 50% off at the moment). Friday night we did more spooks but this time with a bottle of champers and by Saturday the detox was well and truly over. Happy new year and hope yours is going better than mine!
