Holiday Prep...

The time is fast approaching for my annual holiday to the beloved island of Alderney. Affectionately known as ‘the rock’ to all who have discovered this little gem of a place, you’ll find a whole crowd of slightly eccentric (some would even say mad) people landing for a week or two of great grub, wine, laughter, beaches and water-sports – our little heaven!!!

For a bit of preparation, I decided to brush up on my water sport skills and last Sunday found myself at Thorpe Lakes doing a spot of water skiing. On a slightly cloudy evening and with the roar of the M3 rushing by alongside, it wasn’t quite the secluded beach that I was used to but it did get me in the mood.

It also gave me a bit of a wakeup call about the state of my body. Despite all my self tan efforts of late, if there was a competition for pastiness I‘m sure I could claim a prize or two. Not having had the chance to strip down to a bikini in a long time (I’ve usually spent many a day in the garden pre hols by now) I decided it was time to ditch the wetsuit and get my body into tip top beach shape.

The experts say exfoliate, body brush and moisturize, and then follow with a bit of self tan. So, over the weekend, I jumped in the shower and began my pre holiday body prep.

Having been given a ZO1 Body Peel a few weeks before, this was the perfect time to crack it open and give myself a thorough scrub down. Following instructions I body brushed and then finished off with some of my favourite Body Shop Body Butter. Their Shea flavour is amazing: it feels so luxurious, it smells so good and best of all, it has a pretty incredible price tag to match – a definite must for your holiday wash bag this summer.

With my body slowly getting there (luckily I’ve got another week to go), I now need to find a bikini to show it off in. Next stop Tica London. I’ve had my eye on L*space Sensual Bikini (pictured) for a while now and quite frankly after all this effort, I think it would be rude not to, don’t you?
