Holiday Sprees

Wi-fi is officially bad for my financial health, as laptop + sun-lounger + time on my hands = time to shop. This week I’ve spent so much time online shopping at (you guessed it) my-wardrobe.com and, wait for it...ASOS and Net-a-Porter.

Andrew doesn't know about the latter two, but it won’t take long (Monday morning at the Nottingham office to be exact).

In fact Andrew will be fully aware of the level of my holiday online shopping when I rip open the boxes and tip the contents of my current bag into the new Anya Hindmarch tri-colour bag and slip my feet in these delicious Rupert Sandersons.

I was becoming infatuated and obsessed, so I finally gave in, and asked my PA Paula to order them (somehow getting Paula to order things makes me feel like I'm not spending money).

As well as a spot of e-shopping, I did also take in some of the local culture with a trip to the local market and lo and behold, it turned out to be a treasure trove of summer dresses and trinkets.

I went home with a strapless maxi dress and a strapless jumpsuit and I just love them. I did have to make a couple of adjustments to the shape and detail, but now they’re really a bespoke, limited-edition piece - well sort of, but they turned out to be the most worn items of the holiday.

However, as much as I love them, as with most holiday impulse purchases, I'm not sure how they'll translate in the UK. It's easier to experiment abroad, as a jumpsuit has not made it into my wardrobe before, but they both get the Jake seal of approval, so you never know - he is my very own personal fashion editor after all…
