If You Buy One Thing For A/W...

Make it a pair of oversized “man pants”. Think Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie Bradshaw in Sex AndThe City. Worn high at the waist and high on the ankle, this is the shape of winter.
Carrie’s trousers were from YSL (naturally). If you’re budget doesn’t allow for £1,000 trousers there are cheaper options out there. Just look for a high waist and preferably tapered at the ankle which will make it easier to roll.
Here are a few ideas: Louise Amstrup in beige and blue silk, also from Nicola de Main in black and Peter Jensen in navy.
However the best place to get the new season trousers is from your other half’s wardrobe.
If you’re lucky enough, find a pair of his trousers and play around. Pull them up high on the waist, overlap the fly and waist band and secure with a skinny patent leather belt. Then roll up the hem to swing around your ankle. Teamed with a fitted top, slouchy cardigan and ankle boots; a look to see you through the season.

A Life Of Perfect Imbalance
Thursday 17th January 2008
As women we’re really good at something – beating ourselves up about not being perfect. We feel successful when all the cards line up and things fall into place – when things are balanced. But honestly, how often does that happen? So we end up beating ourselves up over events that are generally...
Dressing The Bump...

I can’t remember the last time I actually went to a shop and tried something on. All my shopping is done exclusively online. The time saving and convenience makes up for the shipping charge and the occasional return. Now that I’m 30 weeks pregnant, I can’t fathom actually walking along a busy High...
What will we be wearing next Spring? Round up of the SS08 trends.
Wednesday 31st October 2007
The hysteria surrounding each season’s fashion week has now died down and the question you’re asking is what will I be wearing? The shift in trends from this winter through to summer was subtle with basic elements such as colour, high waists staying the same, and a continuing push towards elegance. But of...
