Lynda's blog

Lynda loves running her interior design business, L Interiors , mostly because she has such wonderful clients (most of which become friends) and partly because it takes her abroad to wonderful places.

Lynda lives in the country – although as she much as she loves it, she’s an ex Notting Hill girlie and couldn’t do it 24/7! Her favourite online stores are GlamOnWeb.com (La Perla), JimmyChoo.com, SpaceNK.co.uk , Hush-UK.com and bbr.com (Berry Bros) because they supply her with the most delicious champagne!

It's All About Glamour...

mauel canovas lynda blogUp until not so long ago the world of interiors was all about minimalism. But over time colour and texure and more recently opulence have gradually crept in and right now, it’s all about glamour.

With all the new collections about to be launched next month, watch out for an abundance of luxurious fabrics and lots of silk embroidery.

It’s not cheap but used in small quantities, say for covering cushions, it’ll enliven your interior without major expenditure.

Manuel Canovas has a wonderful range of embroidered linens and silks (pictured, left) - divine vivid colours coming from Paris – so take your influence from this master.

I say fabrics - we take this through to leather floors, fabric lined walls and silk carpets. Add Swarovski crystal lighting or a decadent chandelier for a look that screams true opulence.

We’re going to be seeing the return of incredibly luxurious curtains (as opposed to blinds), silk curtains that are fully interlined and lined with a contrast silk, and embellished with Swarovski crystal beads from Wendy Cushing or trims from one of my favorite companies VV Rouleaux .

Set off opulence with clean lines coming from modern furniture (try contemporary furniture retailer Espacio ) - the mix of the two can be very eclectic and shows individuality.
