Try Green Living This Fortnight...
Published on Sunday 2nd September 2007

If you’re into green living then you’ll know it’s the Soil Association’s Organic Fortnight from 1st-16th September.

This year they’re calling on the nation to 'Wake up to an Organic Breakfast'. Retailers, brands and restaurants are promoting their organic breakfast items, encouraging everyone to try an organic breakfast during the Fortnight.

abel cole yeo valley farmAt Abel & Cole you'll find everything you need. If you favour healthy living then they do a divine organic museli but if that sounds far too virtuous and you favour something a bit more indulgent then cook up some sausages, eggs and bacon.

And if you don’t normally buy organic then this is the fortnight to try it. Try a Rod & Bens box scheme, some Eversfield Organic meat (it’s farmed strictly to comply with the Soil Associations rigorous standards for Organic farming) or even some Vintage Roots organic wine.

Been eating organic for years? Then give organic beauty a go. And there’s no compromising on luxury either. Nude is one of the hottest new luxury organic skincare brands on the scene.

On the fashion front head to Adili where organic certifiers check the farming and also the flow of goods to ensure that the cotton in the clothes they sell actually came from an organic farm.

Really feel like splashing out on a greener luxe lifestyle?

Yes Quintessentially Estates, the property-finding arm of the concierge service, has just bought a private island off Mozambique, renamed it Quintessentially Private Island , and is launching an extraordinarily luxurious eco-tourism project from December 2007.

At around £500 per person, per night to rent and £1.25m to buy (there are nine villas in total) it’s not exactly cheap but it does sound like heaven.
