Lash-Tastic...
Published on Friday 20th March 2009
I’m all for making the best of oneself and in my book there’s no harm in the odd improvement; sadly I wasn’t blessed with the long lashes gene so I’ve long been meaning to give extensions a go.
Like all beauty procedures, you need to be careful who you choose (one company, that will remain unnamed, offer lashes that verge on chav-tastic), so I’ve been on the hunt for the ‘right’ practitioner. Hunt over with and the one I found must be good – she’s often enlisted to work her magic on Ten Years Younger.
So off I set on Friday afternoon to get my LVL lashes done. Forty five minutes later (no pain or discomfort) and they were all in place and ready (lots of length, volume and lift) to go.
£45 very well spent I say; they’re subtle (you wouldn’t notice them unless you knew), super natural and even easier to look after. 24 hours of keeping them dry and a quick brush with serum day and night, and for six weeks Bob’s your uncle.
Even my eye mask (which I wasn’t supposed to wear on the first night but did) didn’t knock them out of place. Nor did the tears that were pouring down my face less than 24 hours later in front of Marley & Me (it’s so sad they were still flowing as I filed down the escalator to the car park afterwards).
Comments from our members:
"Thanks Dettie - I am SO going to check them out!"
"That sounds like a lifesaver to me. Could you send me the name and number of the practitioner? "
"There are lots on the LVL lashes site but Shenaz at Tony & Guy on Ken Church Street in London is one of the best!"
"LVL are actually not lash extensions, it's a procedure which is done to your own lashes (they're "curled" straight up to make them look longer. Nouveau lashes are the lash extensions, where each lash is applied separately (I'm a Nouveau technician)."

Post Conference...
Sunday 8th March 2009
Big sigh of relief... the SheerLuxe E-Tailer Conference is over! Two days of seminars delivered to (on each day) 130 delegates (online business owners and marketing professionals), lots of networking, rather too much wine after day one for some (me included), not enough sleep... We were lucky enough to have some top rate speakers...
Twitter Away...
Friday 27th February 2009
Running a website you’d think I’d be in the know when it comes to all thinks technology related... not so (unless you’re talking to my mother who, because I can talk her through downloading an attachment, has me in her phone book under tech support – oh the irony). OK so SheerLuxe is...
The House Hunt...
Friday 6th February 2009
If ever there was a time for me to virtually shop it’s 2009. This year hubby and I are on the house hunt. We’ve been patiently waiting for well, too long now, but looks like our time might finally be in sight. As always we’re being very cautious (I say we...) and are...
Date Night...
Wednesday 28th January 2009
Canoodling couple (and that’s being kind) on the table next to us aside, last night hubby and I did date night and had an off the scale dining experience. I’ve always thought it’s so important, every month or so, to forget the washing, the rubbish and anything else that’s the cause of, dare...
Wedding Belles...
Sunday 11th January 2009
Well so far my January hasn’t been all that dreary at all. Two of my greatest girl friends have just got engaged – (not to each other) both to other halves that I’m deeply fond of (always a plus). To one of them I’m Matron of Honour which means I got to spend...
