Loubous, Scallops & Steak...

Third year wedding anniversary is leather. Having just spent a small (ok large) fortune on the new house the accountant offered me restaurant and a sample swatch of leather or a new pair of Loubous, scallops and steak at our new dining table.

No brainer. Loubous, scallops (cooked with bacon, pine nuts and vinaigrette), steak... yes please. Loubous, YES PLEASE.

Given that we’re on a budget, in a recession and it’s unlikely that I’ll be owning any other new red soles for a while, I played it safe and opted for a classic.

So I arrived home to my favourite jazz, my favourite white flowers , delicious smells and our new table laid with our dinner service which we christened – it had been in storage for three years owing to the shoe box (one bed flat) being too small to use / store it.

We drank copius amount of bubbles, wine and finished with Amaretto sours (unnecessary but my favourite – just mix Amaraetto with ice and lemon juice – no sugar, it makes them too sweet).

A perfect evening and Louboutins or no Louboutins, it far outweighed the best of restaurants. What a lucky girl.
