Making The Most of My Lashes…
Published on Monday 10th March 2008

There seems to be a trend developing in the office. At least three people have recently been sporting false lashes at work. Now I‘ve dabbled with falsies in the past but only really for big events and parties - day-wear takes it to a whole new level.

One of the girls wears a different style of lashes every day (honestly) and I have to say they do look stunning – if you can be bothered taking the time to apply them that is...! She swears by the Shu Uemura range and quote “they have the best glue!”

mac lashes caroline blogI too have jumped on the bandwagon and invested in a few pairs to try out. She was right, the Shu Uemura ones are fabulous and do stay on forever.

I also felt incredibly glam when I wore them and got many comments - although I’m not convinced I’d use them day-to-day, purely as I’m really not that glam!

More subtle and definitely more me is the new MAC Lashes range. They have so many to choose from it’s almost scary (even Miss MakeUp obsessive me was shocked by the choice!) They’ve enlisted the help of an American lash specialist to design a range for every need. The best bit is that they’re not perfectly symmetrical so they look much more natural.

japanesque heateyelashcurlDuring my recent lash research I’ve also discovered a great tool for those that aren’t overly thrilled by the faff of applying falsies. It’s a heated eyelash curler from a brand called Japanesque .

The curler helps make the most of your own lashes and is really quick and easy to use. I’ve had heated curlers before and they either didn’t work or scared me due to the heat/eye proximity but this isn’t an issue with these ones. I’m seriously never taking this little gem of a tool out of my makeup bag!

So, however you make the most out of your own lashes, just make sure you do as it really does make a massive difference.

Right, I’m off to apply my dramatic lashes in preparation for a big night out!
