Lynda's Blog
Lynda loves running her interior design business, L Interiors, mostly because she has such wonderful clients (most of which become friends) and partly because it takes her abroad to wonderful places.
Lynda lives in the country – although as she much as she loves it, she’s an ex Notting Hill girlie and couldn’t do it 24/7! Her favourite online stores are GlamOnWeb.com (La Perla), JimmyChoo.com, Hush-UK.com and bbr.com (Berry Bros) because they supply her with the most delicious champagne!
New Design...
Published on Tuesday 4th March 2008
With just a week until all the new fabric collections are launched you can expect to see some of the best designs in a while as colour and opulence have a big part to play. So far I’ve managed to take a preview look at both Designers Guild and Osborne & Little - both have produced some stunning fabrics and wallpapers.
Designers Guild have a wonderful collection of new fabrics and designs continuing the Rococo theme and using an abundance of wonderful fabrics such as velvets, sheers, silks and taffeta’s all on a wonderful colour palate.
In response to a huge demand they’ve produced a luxurious trimmings range: velvety pom poms, glass beads and mother of pearl with coordinating tie backs. As ever they’ve come up with a wonderful range of accessories, beautiful bed linen, blankets and throws, and a range of cushions to liven up any interior.
Check out the range of stationary too. (Stationary wise I’m also loving Hazlitz for their wonderful range of girlie cards and bespoke stationary; it’s a really great find.)
Design week starts on Sunday the 9th March for the trade and is then open to the public from the 12th to the 14th – it’s well worth a visit.
For the new season, The White Company has come up with what I think are the most beautiful lights: the Luce comes as a tall floor lamp and a smaller table lamp, and I will most certainly be using them in an interior scheme. There are lots of great new products in their new range.
That’s it for now. I’m taking a break out of my work schedule to go to the La Perla fashion show at the Italian Embassy……can’t wait !

It's All About Glamour...
Wednesday 13th February 2008
Up until not so long ago the world of interiors was all about minimalism. But over time colour and texure and more recently opulence have gradually crept in and right now, it’s all about glamour. With all the new collections about to be launched next month, watch out for an abundance of luxurious...
Welcome Back Wallpaper...
Tuesday 29th January 2008
Wallpaper is having a huge revival after a good few years of being in the background. This is mainly due to the paint trend led by the likes of Farrow and Ball. Don’t get me wrong we’re still painting - my personal favorite has to be the marvellous Paint and Paper Library...
Lighting Expertise...
Monday 7th January 2008
Well a new year and new trends... look out for much more colour coming into our homes and, I’m predicting a new Baroque influence - those familiar with Hotel Costes in Paris will know what I mean. It’s time to bring back a more eclectic feel as opposed to the show house formula....
It's All Looking Magical...
Sunday 16th December 2007
In the countdown to Christmas we’re going great guns here to get everything out and delivered for the festive season! We’ve just completed ‘White Christmas’ for one client. It looks magical and fresh; lighting (my big thing) here is totally reliant on metres and metres of white fairy lights and an abundance of candle...
Snowballs and Apres in Style...
Sunday 18th November 2007
The recent cold (-5 cold as it read the on my car the other morning at some ungodly hour) has helped get me inspired for my most recent project, a ski lodge in Val d’Isere. And it was so easy to get in the mood as I sat at my desk gazing out...
