Now It's Me Time...
Published on Thursday 10th January 2008

Not sure about you but I definitely overdid it over Christmas and New Year. I always do and then I vow to detox in January. Invariably I then get sucked in to going out again and before I know it the detox is broken.

This year, I’m promising myself, will be different. Not only am I cutting out alcohol and going on a health food binge but I ‘m also intending on having some serious me-time.

Firstly I ‘m going to block out a night a week in my diary so I can pamper myself with all the goodies I got for Christmas. Like lots of you no doubt, I was lucky enough to get some gorgeous Jo Malone gifts which are perfect for some serious chilling out. I will be lighting my favourite Grapefruit Candle , running a nice hot bath filled with Grapefruit Bath Oil and putting on my Hotel Costes album.

estee lauder hydra complete maskPost bath I’ll be smoothering my hands in the new Jo Malone Vitamin E Nourishing Hand Treatment (it’s a bit of a splurge for £34 but well worth it – especially at this time of year when your hands get all dry from the freezing cold weather – thanks father christmas) and my face in Estee Lauder’s Hydra Complete Gel Mask . It’s one of those products that whenever you use it you think ‘why on earth don't I use this more often?!’

Just before Christmas I went to a fantastic spa and had a Clarins Spa Detox Body Wrap . I fully recommend trying it out. It really does flush out all the toxins and makes your skin feel so much healthier. I'll definitely be heading back there! In fact I shall have to make regular spa visits a new year’s resolution. Self indulgent, yes - but a great resolution none the less!

crabtree and evelyn 60 second fix for feetAlso on my resolution list is to be kinder to my feet. They’ve served me well during the party season and they often get ignored at this time of year when they’re hidden away in winter boots.

So I promise my feet regular exfoliation, moisturisation and polish! Crabtree & Evelyn’s speedy 60-Second Fix for Feet should make it more manageable.

Watch this space to see whether I manage to keep any of my resolutions this year. I’m thinking it’s not too much to ask from myself – right?

Ok, now I’m off to run that bath...
