Now there is an 'I' in iphone...

I don’t have an iPhone. There you go, I said it. The fact that I don’t have one – until next week at least, has shocked many. And frankly I was pretty embarrassed when at a 30th birthday a fellow party goer shouted across the table (at Annabel’s no less) ‘surely you of all people should have an iPhone’.

Looking a little red in the face I followed up with all number of excuses, namely that I was tied into a contract with Orange (aren’t phone contracts worse than gym memberships?), that I have dropped my hardwearing blackberry so many times that it makes a cat look short on lives and that I send a LOT of emails.

Whilst, thankfully, my little brother does have the Net A Porter app, following this incident I decided I really ought to do something about my slow uptake when it comes to modern technology.... and off I went to order one.

Like a new haircut I’m sure I’ll get used to gently tapping a flat screen (as opposed to punching the lights out of my blackberry keys) and as for dropping it, well let’s just say, protection of said expensive iphone means it’s all the more easy to justify ordering an extra nice case, care of luxury leather goods aficionado Quentin Mackay.

OK so it’s not really a bargain being made of rubber and costing £10.99 but it is super smart. Let’s just hope the accountant is too busy sniffing out good wine/champagne/good deals in general to itemise this month’s Amex bill and that I can get used to my smart new toy...
