Oh my goodness, it's cake...
Published on Tuesday 31st October 2006

What could be better than delicious hand-made fairy cakes with mouth-watering icing, beautifully packaged and delivered direct to your door? The answer: not a lot.

For Goodness Cake have come up with a wonderfully novel idea - not that flowers and champagne aren't lovely (and always gratefully accepted!!!) but these pretty little fairy cakes, made with fresh and natural ingredients and of course with free range eggs, are just the thing to send to friends, family or even a colleague. Choose a decoration of flowers, stars or hearts, or personalise them with your own message.

You really can't go wrong with the Classic Box (£25), which contains 24 fairy cakes that come in a divine hand tied box. There's an assortment of vanilla, delicately iced with rose-water icing, and for the die hard chocoholic like me (!), chocolate, iced with melt in the mouth chocolate icing.

Send a new mummy and baby 12 cakes along with the sweetest soft toy (£28). Cakes for her and a little bunny for the babe - a perfect combination. For a newly engaged couple or as a congratulations, 12 cakes and two little bottles of champagne (£40) are just the thing.

All the above, and more, are available with Christmas tree icing decoration during the festive period or you can go for the Christmas Gift Box (£47).

It contains 12 fairy cakes (all in gold foil cases and decorated with silver Christmas trees), two mini bottles of champagne and some star sparklers. What's more, it includes delivery! Now in my mind, that beats a hamper any day.
