Pink Is The Way Forwards...

I’ve had to give in and now everything in our house is going pink. All those years ago, my much beloved birth and baby encyclopedia taught me a lot but it never explained that at some point you have to choose between pink and blue.

Having two girls and a boy I’ve weaved between various themes – Thomas, Angelina and our current favourites Charlie and Lola - all spreading a little colour into our lives. But lately my smallest little cherub has decided she loves anything and everything pink and that blue (in any shade) should be forbidden.

Whilst laying the table for supper the other day I forgot and heaven forbid, chose blue mats - boy did she let me know. It got me thinking.

Earlier that day I’d read an article in the paper talking about how James Bond items were edging their way into shops. I was quite keen on the glasses with cameras in them - though I’m not sure I could part with my new Pradas – they’d certainly be handy for keeping an eye on the kids.

As my hand reached into the cupboard for another pink place mat to keep little miss happy, it got me thinking that mums these days could do with a few more hands and faster feet. A la Bond we’d make good use of rollerblades equipped with jets so that movement back and forward to replace forbidden coloured placemats could be done with ease.

But until Q invents them, pink is the way forwards.
