There's A Massage Waiting For You...
Tuesday 30th September 2008
I’m reeling. Reeling from the whirlwind that is London Fashion Week and the double whirlwind that is the start of the new fashion season. Not that the two events are on the same page, mind: former was about next spring (happily, in weather like this I can imagine next spring) and...

Great Northern (De)Lights...
Monday 18th August 2008
I’m just back from two weeks with the family on the Danish coast. The wonderful thing about the Danish coast is that it’s so rugged (a bit like Viggo Mortensen, another Danish delight ). You can’t help but feel awed by and close to nature.
The Danes’ idea of relaxing...

It's All Going Swimmingly, Thanks...
Wednesday 23rd July 2008
I’m talking here about my ethical fashion life, of course. Time was that it was hard to stick to ethical principles and dress as I wanted to. Still not fully there, mind... Roger Vivier perennially beckons as does Etro, but hey, at least my jeans are now almost exclusively Aoki or...

Bamboo-izing Your Fashion Life...
Monday 7th July 2008
Kung Fu Panda is in theatres now. Go see it, if only to hear the ‘Master’ Tigress, Angelina. Could there be a better typecast of the lovely but formidable Ms. Jolie? Doubt it.
Talking about pandas, I wanted to let you in on a little secret: the most comfortable summer fabric...

All That Glitters...
Friday 6th June 2008
My adventures in luxury green living endured a fair few hiccups when it came to my all time favourite indulgence/pick-me-up/make-my-eyes-shine/prove-to-me-you-love-me item: jewellery.
Yep, much before ‘Blood Diamond’ made us eye our bling suspiciously, I knew there were ‘bad’ diamonds out there (we ethical luxuristas sort of have to be up to...

Summer Fashion Slow Down...
Tuesday 20th May 2008
Okay, so I know spring-summer has been quite the treacherous lover of late... showering us with awaited attention one moment, disappearing without a word the next, leaving us unhappy and aching with longing. Sigh.
But in my glass-half-full world we ought not to dwell on this. Instead let’s think about how good...

The Wow in Bow-Wow
Wednesday 7th May 2008
Last week we welcomed a new member into our family – Prince Haf (KC name) or, more casually, Crunchie (so named by the ‘leader of the pack’ because of the state of credit markets. Seriously.)
Of course my natural response to the new arrival has been to research and sniff out (pun...

It's A Shoe In...
Monday 14th April 2008
This week’s Grazia has announced that ‘IT’ bags must move over to make way for the new top accessory – shoes. Personally I never thought shoes were anything but top of the heap, but hey, who am I to argue with Grazia?
Anyway, for those keen on ethical luxury (and Grazia), shoes...

Great Expectations Are All Around...
Thursday 20th March 2008
Everyone seems to be having a baby right now (most awaited on my list was Ralf, son of Brittique founder, Nicole Bremner). When I was expecting I saw pregnant women everywhere but this was an illusion especial to my situation. However, since I’m not having a baby anytime soon and still...

Let's Do It All Over Again...
Friday 7th March 2008
Vintage and recycled are two much used terms in ethical fashion. And for good reason – waste not, want not and all that. But for some people (indeed in some cultures as a whole) wearing what others before you (especially strangers) have worn is, well, weird.
And recycled... what really tends...
