Summer Season

The Summer season is upon us and I just love it! It all starts on the last day of the Chelsea Flower Show with the wonderful sight of the Kings Road swamped by ladies carrying all shapes and sizes of wonderful flowers and plants to various corners of leafy suburbia.

Back here the tents start to go up in anticipation of Henley Regatta. I just love Henley and for those who have yet to experience it, the festival that follows is not to be missed.

Maybe this year we’ll be lucky with the weather, as my memories of Henley past were always of a scorcher, when we would take our lovely wooden boat down for the duration, the highlight being the fireworks on the river on the Saturday night.

Along with Summer, colour is back. Just check out the new throws from JH Trousseau. The limited edition hot pink is my favourite and will probably not be reserved solely for my bed but accompany me to many an outdoor event this summer in case it gets chilly.

If you’re not into hot pink, lime green and duck egg blue are also new and utterly scrumptious. And of course, I can never resist the classic throws from the Josephine Home range (JH Trousseau’s older sister, as it were), which come in melt in the hand cashmere and are so hard to put down!

I love this shop and am very happy to have invested in the tactile Egyptian cotton bedding for my own home. There’s something about the sensuality of climbing into freshly ironed and laundered sheets at the end of a long, summery day – a small luxury, but one I cherish.
