Thigh High

I seem to have woken up every morning over the last two weeks and had a serious falling out with my wardrobe - I am just so over my summer clothes!
Friday night was spent manically packing up the house for the big move this week (eek!) and being ruthless in the clothes department with what I need to keep and ditch. My theory is if you haven’t worn it for two years then it’s time for it to find a new home. One black bag for the charity shop later and my wardrobe was looking a bit sorry for itself...
And there was only one way to make it feel better: Shopping! So, Saturday afternoon was spent creating my capsule wardrobe for A/W 2009.
However, sadly moving house also means shopping this season is a little bit more conservative so I’m thanking the great British high street for coming up trumps with some winning pieces.
At a recent Net-a-Porter event Natalie Massanet told us that this season was all about the thigh high boot. My first thought? Awesome! But it quickly changed to how? At my height!
But after a bit of persuasion from the queen of fashion on how to wear this trend, I began to come round to the idea. Plus Pretty Women is one of my all time fave films so if there was ever an opportunity to recreate Vivian's (Julia Roberts) style, this season is it.
So, Chloe and Louboutin out of the budget I set on my quest to find this season's must-have and these Britany over the knee boots at Topshop are just the trick! The platform at the front is perfect for those, who like me, are not winning in the height stakes and paired with some leggings (or treggings) gives an extra few inches to the legs.
A win-win situation!

At Sheerluxe HQ a few of us are bucking the trend and buying a house – for some needs must and for others it's a deal too good to resist – so the office is bursting with buzz about the best beds, softest sofas and coolest kitchen tables around. However, I still need my...

Admittedly absolutely nothing beats having your hair done to make you feel fresh but I am 100% set in my ways when it comes to hairdressers and have been known to have slight (well, ok more than slight) diva tendencies if I'm not happy with the outcome! Having been scarred by endless...

So the wedding has been and gone and boy was it a blast! In fact I would even go so far as to say it was one of the best weekends I've ever had and I was only a bridesmaid! The bride and groom are well on their way to sunny Ibiza for...

The countdown is officially on in our family. The first of four daughters is getting married in nine days time. Another wedding I hear you say? Well yes, but in a family of six and only one man (yes, my poor father) this is, quite possibly, the biggest event in our...

Finding the perfect bag is a task in itself; in fact I’d say it follows closely behind finding the perfect pair of jeans, which by the way, I’m still on the hunt for! The amount of times I’ve seen a bag and thought if only it was in a lighter colour, I just wish...
