Wedding Shoes...eek!
Published on Thursday 10th January 2008

My best friend is getting married in the Summer and last weekend we spent what seemed an eternity stomping around London searching for her wedding shoes.

What seemed like such an easy (and enjoyable) task actually turned into a tantrum inducing nightmare.

With the January sales in full swing it probably was the worst possible time to hunt for these white strappy toe pinchers but it didn't occur to me that we would be stuck for options. But we were.

Three hours later there was a wine glass in our hand and not a shopping bag in sight. Feeling defeated and frustrated and intensely annoyed that the only option was Jimmy Choo. (£450 on shoes you won’t even see and never wear again is, even I will admit, a bit ludicrous).

Half a bottle of wine down and we turned to the internet.

ava benjamin adams accessory boutiqueHurrah! So this is what all other brides do.

We stumbled across the bride to be’s best friend: The Accessory Boutique . Here was every type of shoe style and price range for white/ivory classic wedding shoes. Voila!

From the comfort of the kitchen table we ordered her shoes and only shelled out £149.95 (now that’s more like it)! All the more budget on wedding jewellery (n.b also available on this fabulous site).

If any of you or your friends are about to walk down the aisle, learn from our mistakes. Forget the high street and just say hi to the internet instead.

Now, if only you could organise an entire hen night online... Ideas anyone?
