Lynda's Blog

Lynda loves running her interior design business, L Interiors , mostly because she has such wonderful clients (most of which become friends) and partly because it takes her abroad to wonderful places.

Lynda lives in the country – although as she much as she loves it, she’s an ex Notting Hill girlie and couldn’t do it 24/7! Her favourite online stores are GlamOnWeb.com (La Perla), JimmyChoo.com, Hush-UK.com and bbr.com (Berry Bros) because they supply her with the most delicious champagne!

Welcome Back Wallpaper...
Published on Tuesday 29th January 2008

Wallpaper is having a huge revival after a good few years of being in the background. This is mainly due to the paint trend led by the likes of Farrow and Ball .

Don’t get me wrong we’re still painting - my personal favorite has to be the marvellous Paint and Paper Library that you’ve heard me talk about before and whilst I just love their colour palette, wallpaper has however taken centre stage again.

cole and son lynda s blogA lot of the wallpapers out there at the moment are very bold and striking and if I’m using them I tend only do a feature wall. Feature walls have a great impact on a room and they’re far less daunting than four overwhelming walls of busy wallpaper.

One of my favorite companies has to be Cole and Son . The company has been in existence since 1873 and boasts a most distinguished archive; Pugin and William Morris to name one of many.

They also have some very distinguished clients that include both Buckingham Palace and the White House and only go to illustrate their success in the market place.

However it is only more recently that they’ve included a contemporary range to their well established collections.

I really like the New Contemporary and the New Contemporary Two Collections and although they have had fairly wide exposure now, they’re a stunning collection of wallpapers, quite like no other. I've used wallpaper from the new Tamarisk collection (it's stunning and right up to date) for a hotel project that I’m currently working on. The result is totally striking; it pays to be bold.

Sadly you can’t purchase Cole and Son’s wallpaper online but you can order a sample of anything you’d like to see at home.

If you are shopping for wallpaper online, Graham & Brown have a range of innovative and striking wallpaper designs from a range of designers.
