Be it waxed or coated, my denim colours circle around grey, black and ink navy. I've grown accustomed to this funerary palette, but I'm finding the expanding denim rainbow harder and harder to ignore. Can I break the habit of a lifetime and pull off pastels?

The rest of the team have been incorporating a flurry of colours into their trouser-wearing for a while; from Nicole’s snowflake blue CURRENT/ELLIOTT leopard-print skinnies, to Esme’s berry wine hued jeans; but I’ve remained faithful to my black'n'blues. But the incoming drops of sugary pastels are making my teeth twitch – Zara’s ice cream colours being a case in point.

Wish I had the gumption to go for the brights but I’m taking baby steps here so I've plumped for the sorbet pink...
