Coffee With Jennifer Irvine
of The Pure Package

jennifer-irvine-coffee-with.jpgJennifer Irvine is the founder of The Pure Package, a gourmet food service, which tailors menus to specific individual needs delivering a selection of healthy and organically sourced meals and snacks, direct to your doorstep.

Jennifer lives in Surrey with her husband and three little girls Lily, Jasmine and Rose.

We had a coffee with Jennifer to find out what inspired her to set up her own business, dig deep about her shopping habits and discover where she likes to shop online.

title-image-brain.jpgWhat inspired you to create The Pure Package?
I was living in New York when I originally came up with the idea - I’d seen similar services out there but for various reasons they weren’t transferable back to the UK.

It’s a product and service that I knew I would love myself and thought with a bit of tweaking, others in the UK would too so I just went for it.

What makes your product unique?
It’s the freshness and the level of service we give to our clients; it’s the ultimate convenience.

How do you get a good work/life balance?
I have a fantastic team working for me and that's definitely the key. Of course it’s hard when it’s your own business, particularly when you have three young children, so I make sure I schedule ‘me time’ every few months and usually escape to a spa for a few days to sleep!

pure-package-lunch.jpgWhat’s your best selling programme?
The Weight Loss programme is definitely the most popular but each one is individual; they're tailored to the customer depending on their height, weight, likes and dislikes.

How would you characterise your fashion style?
Comfortable but adaptable.

Do you follow any style rules?
I wear what suits me rather than following trends. Just because something is big that season doesn’t mean it will work for me.

valentino-clutch-coffee-with.jpgWho is your style icon?
Audrey Hepburn.

Who is your favourite designer?
At the moment I absolutely adore Valentino - I was in Italy a couple of weeks ago and got completely carried away with his dresses.

Where do you shop on the high street?
Topshop. I often go to the personal shopper at their store in Oxford Street - the store can be quite overwhelming and they’re just a great guide. I love the fact that you can be a bit more experimental – it’s not so scary if a £30 top doesn’t work but if a £1,000 designer dress doesn’t, you know you’ve made a big mistake!

jimmy-choo-jennifer-irvine-coffee-with.jpgI also found it was a godsend when I was pregnant. Having three babies in just over three years has meant my body shape has changed a lot – their maternity wear was a lifesaver.

Are you a heels or a flats girl?
I’m always in heels, all day every day, but they have to be comfortable so I tend to invest in them. I used to only wear Jimmy Choo for the design and fit but more recently I’ve loved what Gucci are doing.

What piece in your wardrobe could you not live without?
My 7 For All Mankind jeans; I’d feel naked without them!

What are you lusting over this season?
The Valentino embellished clutch.

ralph-lauren-home_spring_2009.jpgWhat beauty products are currently in your bathroom cabinet?
Elemis and lots of it. The Anti Cellulite cream is phenomenal, especially after pregnancy.

What’s your signature fragrance?
I love Jo Malone fragrances, particularly Jasmine and Honeysuckle.

What are your three must-have make up products?
Clinique Impact Curling Mascara, Bobbi Brown Blush and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick.

How would you describe the style of your home?
Functional yet decadent. There are lots of big Swarovski chandeliers, big white sofas and Ralph Lauren throws.

divertimenti.jpgWhere do you buy your furniture and home accessories?
I like to touch and feel all my soft furnishings before I buy so I’ve spent hours perusing the design centre in Chelsea Harbour but for the kitchen, Divertimenti has everything you could wish for and has been a lifesaver on many occasions.

What did you last put on your credit card?
Whoopee Cushions for my daughter’s birthday party goody bags!

And finally, any other favourite online stores?
Amazon.
