Bright Eyes

elizabeth richards 2 When you’ve been burning the candle at both ends the eyes are always the first to give the game away. And with the eyes not only being the most sensitive area on the face but also loaded with make up for several hours a day, it makes perfect sense that special attention is needed to maintain a youthful look.

The skin around the eyes is amongst the thinnest anywhere on the body meaning that while it requires a regular moisture boost to remain soft and supple, it can quickly become irritated by product applied in the wrong quantities or of an unsuitable type. So while many of use simply continue day and night creams over the eye area, a dedicated product designed specifically for this zone is likely to give better results without adding minutes to a busy morning or evening beauty regime.

Rich creams and serums are great for mature skins or for those who work in centrally heated, air conditioned or outdoor environments while a whole host of anti-ageing solutions repair even deep or long standing lines and work to smooth and plump crepey or flakey lids. If puffy, tired eyes are the problem, a cooling gel massaged gently into the under eye area should diminish bags and balance hydration.

Some formulas come with a tiny spatula to aid application. If yours does, use it: your cream will stay bacteria-free which means healthy eyes and a fresher complexion. Either way, apply several tiny dots to the under eye, outer eye and brow area and blend gently with the ring finger, making sure product isn’t taken too close to the rim or lash line.
