Waterproof Mascara

We all appreciate the face-framing come-hither appeal of a pair of perfectly made up eyes but when time is tight and you’re on the move all day long, only the hardiest of makeup will take the pace. Once unpopular for the stiff effect they gave lashes, the old-style water-resistant mascaras have been phased out and replaced with innovative formulas giving a soft supple look. Tiny combs and clever rubber wands deliver the ideal amount of product from roots to tips with perfect precision: as with a brush, wiggle into roots then sweep through lengths, working quickly but carefully and removing any smudges immediately with a cotton bud moistened with moisturiser or makeup remover.

The range of colours available now includes navy blues, greens and deep purples as well as versatile blacks and browns and because our lashes are all different, most waterproof mascaras now work twice as hard to lengthen, condition and pump up volume. But waterproof products can be a challenge to remove so always use a makeup remover designed for the job and sweep, never tug, over lashes.
