Not many a summer season passes by without a reference to the wedge. This summer is no exception. If you’ve been umming and ahhing about adding it to your wardrobe for the last year or two then this year rest assured that in one, you can’t put a foot wrong.
Now here at SL HQ we love a Louboutin as much as the next girl but if the budget doesn’t quite stretch to a £300 wedge then Castañer is the next best thing.
The family run company, founded decades ago in Spain to make canvas shoes, was firmly put on the fashion map when YSL featured a pair in a collection of his back in the 60s.
Today, Castañer are well known for their use of woven straw, rattan and wicker that they combine with unusual materials to create a fashion forward collection of well priced wedges.
