Keeping up with designers, new labels and new brands is nothing short of tiring, but no one wants to be sat across the table from a label lover at a dinner party and feel totally inadequate.
And whilst to some the names Day Birger et Mikkelsen  and By Malene Birger might mean the world, to others they’re nothing short of confusing. One is not, as you wouldn’t be ridiculed for thinking, a diffusion label of the other, no, Malene Birger was once half of design duo Day Birger et Mikkelsen until she broke away and set up her own label in 2003.
One offers sophisticated bohemian styling; one offers sophisticated elegance and both deliver on understated style.
