Plastic or Proto-Col? Published on Monday 2nd July 2007
Plastic or proto-col? I’m not one to judge but if you’re standing firm in your stance against botox then lotions, potions, supplements and other alternatives continue to flood the market in the hope that they’ll appeal.
Proto-Col’s Collagen Capsules (a natural food supplement) caught my eye of late and with a firm following of A-lister beauties that includes the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Lucy Liu and Uma Thurman, I thought they were worth a try.
Refreshingly (and realistically) these capsules don’t claim they’ll make miracles happen: they claim to protect, nourish and firm skin, as well as stimulate the skin’s natural production of collagen which in turn should prevent fine lines and wrinkles - without the need for the dreaded needle. (Collagen is also believed to strengthen
nail and hair follicles by up to 36%).
So do they work? Whilst I can’t say I woke up at the end of month three (the recommended period for which you need to take them to see results) with a face like a babies bum, my skin definitely feels plumper and my nails stronger, and seeing as your natural supply of collagen (a natural protein found throughout the body) starts to decrease (causing fine lines and wrinkles) from around the age of 25, I’m all for doing everything and anything I can now.
For one week only get 3 Proto-Col Collagen for the price of 2 and free postage and packaging when you enter sheerluxe1 at checkout.
