The Best Multi-Tasking Make-Up Products On The Market

If you’re the kind of person who likes a more pared-back make-up routine, you’ll know multi-tasking products can be a bit of a godsend. Case in point – SL’s Beauty Insider Adeola Gboyega regularly turns to multi-taskers, not only to save time in her personal life, but also to save space in her professional kit. Here she runs us through some of her favourites and the many ways to use them…

Cream Bronzers

A cream bronzer is a beauty bag essential, not just because of its malleable consistency, but also its ability to blend into the skin – together, this makes them super easy to use and virtually fool proof for beauty novices or anyone looking to cut back on the amount of time they spend doing their make-up. A great tip is to apply your cream bronzer on your eyelids to add definition and depth. Just be sure to choose a shade that compliments your skin tone, so that you can use it to warm up your complexion and define your face, as well as your eyes.

Cream Blush Sticks

Cream blush formulations are my go-to because you can use your fingers to blend them into the skin – a bonus when you’re in a rush and don’t have time to faff around with multiple brushes. A cream blush will instantly perk up your complexion and these can be applied with a quick swipe or by gently tapping it on. They also tend to have a sheerer pigment, so they don’t end up looking too strong when applied at speed – plus, they double up as lip colour too, so you have the perfect matching lip and cheek combo in one easy-to-use product.

Cream Eyeshadow

A cream eye shadow – preferably in stick form – is the ultimate multitasker. If you find your eye shadow doesn’t last past 12pm, or if you have oily or dry eyelids, then this is the product for you. Most cream shadow come with a long-wear claim, so they’re fantastic when it comes to staying put. There are various ways you can apply them: as a base before powder shadow or on their own using your fingers to blend them for a quick eye look. You can also use your cream shadow stick as an eyeliner, too. Just apply it with a fine brush, close to the lash line for some quick definition.

Foundation Stick

Foundation sticks are a great option if you’re looking for a no-fuss base because they’re convenient for on-the-go and don’t run the risk of spilling. Gone are the days of the heavy pan stick foundations that felt cakey on the skin – the newer foundation stick formulas are creamy and easy to blend with your fingers or a brush. The latest versions are also fully customisable, so you get to choose how much coverage you want – use it as your foundation and concealer, plus if you choose a shade that is a couple shades warmer than your skin tone, they work well as contour sticks, too. Trust me, it will save so much space in your make-up bag.
