As you can imagine, SL beauty editor Rebecca Hull tries and tests hundreds of new products that land on her desk each week. The constant rotation means it’s rare she reaches the dregs of any product. So, when she does, you can be sure it’s something worth shouting about. From thick, nourishing creams to everyday essentials and satisfying scrubs, here are her latest empties…

All products on this page have been selected by our editorial team, however we may make commission on some products.

AHC Essential Eye Cream For Face, £26

This cult Korean cream was originally formulated for the eye area only. Testers loved it so much, they created a version that was suitable for the face, too. Silky, lightweight and quick to absorb, it melts into the skin at speed with plumping peptides and vitamins that visibly hydrate and smooth dry, needy skin. The luminous, dewy finish it lends is unbeatable, too, making it a great base for any make-up that’s applied on top.

Pixi By Petra Lash Lift 188 Mascara, £11.20

Double-ended, this clever mascara has been a beauty kit staple for years. The thinner wand allows you to create a daytime lash, with more of a wispy, subtle finish that looks like you’ve had your lashes tinted, whereas the thicker wand offers volume and density with just a couple of swipes. It has a tubular formula too, which means you only need water to remove it as it comes away in tiny, round balls.

Sol de Janeiro Samba Foot Fetish Cream, £25

Maintaining smooth, flake-free feet is no easy task – especially with the closure of beauty salons and lack of pedicures. But Sol de Janeiro’s Foot Fetish Cream yields some impressive results. Brimming with cupuaçu butter and coconut oil, a thick layer works to soften hard skin and keep dry patches at bay. Layer on a generous amount at night, before applying some thin socks on top to let the formula fully absorb. Doing this will also mean you’re not sliding around throughout the day, either, and you never have to worry about excess grease. The scent – think coconut and SPF – is iconic, too.
