I would describe my style as effortless, chic and comfortable. The way I dress has evolved during the years, but one thing that hasn’t changed is my love for an effortless look. I like to feel elegant, but in general I’ll try to keep things comfortable and interchangeable between day and night.

The advice I wish I could share with everyone is to know what works for you and what does not. There’s nothing worse than seeing someone who is obviously uncomfortable in their clothes. Always go with your gut and don’t overthink it.

If you invest in one thing, make it a coat. Every woman should have one they can throw over everything – great outerwear can make a real statement and, if looked after, it can last a lifetime. As with every piece of clothing, it’s important to find the perfect fit and a style you can imagine yourself wearing in a decade’s time.

It’s important to support smaller brands as well as the classics. Besides some old favourites like Hermès, Loewe and Balenciaga, my passion lies with emerging talents, so I always have my eye out for new names. I have recently been loving Plan C, Khris Joy, Peter Do and Casablanca.

Tailoring is back on the fashion agenda this season. Tailoring is always my go-to, so it doesn’t necessarily feel like a trend for me, but I’m enjoying seeing it coming back in and there’s always a fresh take on it. I’ve got a real thing for chic trousers and I couldn’t live without an oversized blazer, ideally in a fun colour or texture. Blazers really do complete an outfit and elevate your look.

Don’t be afraid to wear bright colours. They can lift your mood and even in the simplest silhouettes can have serious wow factor.

Don’t be afraid to wear bright colours. They can lift your mood and even in the simplest silhouettes can have serious wow factor. These days I like to wear a brightly coloured piece, such as a knit or a great pair of pants and pair it with something neutral. I strongly believe that we express our personality and individuality through clothes, so if you want to stand out from the crowd for the right reasons, that can only be achieved by feeling great in what you’re wearing.

Now, more than ever, it’s important to buy less and buy better. I’ve always been the kind of person that invests in timeless pieces over fleeting trends. That’s not to say I always buy designer – the high street offers great quality pieces and it’s great to see so many brands making more of an effort to respect the planet by using recycled materials. Ultimately, choosing pieces that will stand the test of time is the easiest way to be a more sustainable shopper. I love wearing things that are five, sometimes even ten years old, and there’s something cool about wearing older clothes with a story. Often I’ll wear vintage pieces from my mum’s wardrobe.

When it comes to footwear, I find simple is best. The only purchases I regret are shoes as, more often than not, I don’t end up wearing them and just go back to my trusty sneakers and classic flats. I’m not into flashy footwear at all.

My favourite thing in my wardrobe has to be a handmade beaded dress by Rodarte – it’s absolutely insane! I originally bought it for my wedding party planned for summer 2020, which was sadly scuppered by Covid.

I take style inspiration from lots of different areas. My style icon is Iris Apfel, not just for her instantly recognisable style but also her work as an interior designer, which I reference a lot in my job as an art director. My favourite pages to follow on Instagram are galleries, architects and extreme sports pages. I love seeing people doing crazy things outside in nature and I find that kind of thing the most inspiring. It’s easy to get caught up in the constant consumption and daily grind when you live in a city like London, so I like to remind myself that being out in nature is the most natural way to be.

The secret to great style is knowing what you like but also being open to adapting your look as your personality and taste evolve. Essentially, anyone can have great style if they feel good, confident and above all comfortable.
